Although a Filipina by birth, the author’s last name “Raros” literally means “rare” in Spanish … and by some quirk of economics, both books by the author turn out to be rare finds for the poetry collector. This site should direct you to secure your very own copy at a store nearest to you instead of borrowing one from (and not returning it to) some library, your literati prof, or your disgruntled bookworm of a friend who was enthusiastic enough to lend one to you.

This former monthly columnist for  magazine; studied a short course on filmmaking and photography in Sacramento(CA);

Is a UP Los Baños Communication Arts writing major (Best Thesis for Creative Work) graduate;  

A GIRAFFE published poet   (RED COFFEE: A COLLECTION OF ROMANTIC POETRY 1992-1999); 

A former  volunteer and a part-time media practitioner. She is now managing the family business and has recently published her 2nd book,

 HEARTBEAT CITY: A Collection of Prometry 2000-2007 (Prose and Poetry). The author is currently doing a lengthy book tour of it.

Mercurial and adventurous, she divides her time between 4 places in one year and is currently growing wings on her back.

FOOTNOTE: The word Prometry did not exist as a literary term until October 1999. Sheryl S. Raros has coined it from Prose + Poetry = Prometry and the word first appears at the back cover of her 1st book RED COFFEE: A Collection of Romantic Poetry 1992-1999 (Giraffe Books). Then, the term reappears in her 2nd book HEARTBEAT CITY: Prometry 2000-2007 (ANT MPS) copyrighted on 2005, first printed and released on December 2007. It was then launched at UPLB on January 17, 2008 and its first book tour was at UPD on February 29, 2008.
